Michael G. Sweeney has been a resident of  Virginia for over 25 years. Mr. Sweeney received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from The Ohio State University in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio.

Mr. Sweeney received his Juris Doctor Degree from Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1993.

During college Mr. Sweeney worked for the Franklin County Prosecutor's Office and the Ohio House of Representatives.  Prior to attending law school, Mr. Sweeney worked in sales and was with a national accounting firm. His past professional and business experience in sales and accounting was a solid  background for his law practice.

Mr. Sweeney resides in Chesapeake, Virginia with his wife and two teenagers. He is a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church and his interest include golf, tennis, fishing, and the study of American history.
